Abstract
This report is consist of review of 141 patients who admitted and operated into surgical department of Soon Chun Hyang Chun An Hospital during the past 6 months form january, to June, 1994.
Among 141 patients, 56 patients were found to both hematuria(RBC; above 5/1 HPF) and a significant intraabdominal injury not related to genitourinary system. The incidence of abdominal injury generally increased with the degree of hematuria,
approaching
83.9% in patients with many category including gross hematuria. For each category of degree of hematuria, patients with initial shock had a significantly higher incidence of abdominal injury (p<0.05) than patients without shock.
The incidence of abdominal injury in patients with hematuria and shock was 79.4% and it was 88.9% for patients with many category including gross hematuria and shock. In other hands, the incidence of abdominal injury patients without hematuria
except
initial shock was 29.0%
So, all patients with many category or hematuria and gross hematuria after blunt abbominal trauma and all patients with microscopic hematuria and a history of shock must evaluated for extrarenal intraabdominal injury as well as urologic injuries.
